The MEMEoirs exhibition, a project by Mikhailov & Partners, recognized as the best event of 2018

The MEMEoirs exhibition project, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Mikhailov & Partners agency, was recognized as the best in the Event of the Year category by the Eventiada IPRA Golden World Awards, the largest award in the field of communications in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, a regional partner of the IPRA GWA award. The global competition has been by the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) held since 1990.

Mikhailov & Partners communication agency turned 25 in 2018. The agency pioneered the professional communications field in Russia and it has been a PR and strategic communications market leader all those years. The company celebrated its 25th anniversary by creating a project at the intersection of politics and art called MEMEoirs.

Mikhailov & Partners invited Russia's leading artists to interpret hot topics from the past 25 years that are well remembered and became memes. The MEMEoirs exhibition, dedicated to the Internet phenomenon of the meme, is the first exhibition in the post-Internet genre in Russia, with artists inspired by ideas born online that they transferred to the material world offline. Memes are an important tool for managing public opinion: memes reflect the tone of public opinion around various events in our lives. The MEMEoirs exhibition is not a direct documentation of the life of the country; on the contrary, it presents the biased retrospective view of contemporary artists of the recent history of Russia through communication.
