Russian Young Media Managers Rating 2013: Applications Now Being Accepted
The first stage of data gathering for the annual Russian Young Media Managers Rating has begun, with registration of candidates now open. In July 2014, for the third time, Odgers Berndtson, the leading international executive search firm, in partnerships with PwC in Russia and with support from communications company Mikhailov & Partners, will announce the names of the most successful and promising media industry professionals aged 35 or under.
The key objective of the rating remains to identify young high-potential senior executives who have already achieved significant results, who are treading new paths within the sector and who are most likely to drive events in the media market over the next 3-5 years. The rating is designed to reaffirm the authority of acknowledged leaders and to identify the most active new members of the professional community – heads of Russian TV companies, radio stations, web projects and print media, and managers of the media assets of organizations in four main categories: CEO, Content Creation, Commerce, and Company/Product Promotion.
The rating throws up a whole range of new names, introduces successful young managers and brings promising professional and the expert community together on a single platform in its concluding event to discuss key global trends and techniques in the media, as well as career building issues.
Every year, improvements are made to the procedure used to compile the rating by a special methodology committee, which includes leading industry experts. This helps to align it with current market trends and to get the clearest possible picture of what media managers are achieving and of developments in one of the most actively changing industries. This year, for example, the rating has been expanded to include a new sector - cross-media, which features managers responsible for developing several projects simultaneously, such as print and online media.
There are several ways of applying for inclusion in the rating*:
- open registration via the project website: www.youngmediaman.ru
- by recommendation of official representatives of a media company
- by recommendation of Odgers Berndtson or PwC on the basis of publicly available information about a manager’s age and position
- by recommendation of one of last year’s participants
*subject to the potential candidate meeting the requirements of the rating methodology (see project website)
Applications for inclusion in the rating will be accepted until 20 April 2014. To register independently candidates must complete a questionnaire on the website via this link.
The results of the Russian Young Media Managers 2013 Rating will be published in July 2014.
