Mikhailov & Partners provided information support for the Interdepartmental Rail Track Commission
Mikhailov & Partners’ regional directorate team provided information support for 130th meeting of the Interdepartmental Rail Track Commission – the oldest event in the railway industry – held in Novokuznetsk from 7th to 9th October.
The key topics at this milestone session were improvements in the specifications of rail track steel and innovations in the railway sector. Despite the event’s narrow focus, the Mikhailov & Partners team managed to generate interest amongst the mass media by highlighting the modern technologies used by Russian manufacturers and the impact of rail quality on the country’s economy. At the start of the event, journalists and guests were taken to the EVRAZ West Siberian Metallurgical Plant for a tour of the most modern rail and beam shop in Russia, where they observed first-hand the process of manufacturing innovative 100-m rail tracks!
The Rail Commission heard presentations by representatives of major Russian and foreign companies such as EVRAZ, Russian Railways, Voestalpine (Austria), the Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant (Mechel group) and others. During the two-day business programme the conference delegates shared unique experience, spoke about the technologies they use and the findings of studies that are today helping the rail industry to deliver high-quality passenger and cargo transportation services. Even despite the highly specific subject matter, the event drew a lively response from the media, with journalists eagerly immersing themselves in rail transport issues and taking an interest in the operational and economic aspects of the industry.
