Alena Georgobiani from Mikhailov & Partners Speaks at International Conference on Securing Nuclear Infrastructure

Alena Georgobiani, Senior Manager in the International Projects Department of Mikhailov & Partners Strategic Communications, gave a presentation at an international conference in Rosatom’s Central Institute for Continuing Education and Training (CICET) and a round table during celebrations to mark the Institute’s 50th anniversary. 
The international conference, entitled “Training Specialists for the Nuclear Industry: New Challenges in the Era of Globalization” was held on 4th-6th July at Rosatom’s CICET in Obninsk.  The central theme was training staff for the corporation’s overseas projects, which has become particularly topical as the corporation seeks to transform itself into a global technological leader. The conference was attended by managers and representatives from Rosatom, the corporation’s divisions, industry organizations and foreign partners, as well as the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervisions, regional and municipal governments.  
Speaking at the conference on 4th July, Alena Georgobiani shared her professional expertise on securing public acceptability of atomic energy and presented a case study on creating awareness of the profession in the atomic industry in Bangladesh. And on 6th July, at a round table on The Role of Government in Developing National Nuclear Programmes, which was part of the celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of CICET, she spoke about tools for securing public acceptability of the nuclear industry and creating awareness of the profession in the nuclear industry in Bangladesh from the GR point of view. 
The IAEA recommends that any new member of the “nuclear club” must secure public acceptability of nuclear technologies BEFORE starting to create the nuclear infrastructure required to start building nuclear power plants. The package of educational and communication initiatives implemented in Bangladesh with the involvement of our agency in 2014-2017 is an illustrative example of consistent application of best international and Russian practice in this sphere. I am sincerely grateful to Rosatom for the trust it has shown and the opportunity to share expertise with participants in this event, “said Alena Georgobiani.
Alena Georgobiani has over 17 years of experience in communications and public relations. She joined the Mikhailov & Partners team in 2014, having previously worked in global agencies on international, financial,  internal communications and CSR projects for big companies such as Aeroflot, LUKOIL, the Federal Agency for Management of Special Economic Zones, Uralkali, Uralchem, CFA Institute, Emerson, GM, McDonald’s, Reckitt Benckiser and others.
