On November 28, in the Metelitsa Sport Land Club there was an awarding ceremony to honor the author of the Cup’s Golden Goal marking the end of the 2002 Russian Cup. The event was attended by presidents of Russian soccer clubs along with MTS representatives, since MTS was official sponsor of the Cup, supporting broadcasts of the matches in the SMS format and other Cup-related SMS information services.

During the Russian Cup, MTS’ Soccer web site www.football.mts.ru. carried out a vote to award the Best MTS Goal comprising several rounds, with five best goals winning each round. The MTS’ ‘Golden Goal’ nomination was won by Rolan Gusev (CSKA) with the top score.

Guests and journalists attending the ceremony were presented with footballs signed by Rolan Gusev. Everyone was welcome. There were videos of the best World Cup goals displayed on a big screen.

The MTS’ ‘Golden Goal’ event was jointly organized and conducted by Mobile TeleSystems and ‘Mikhailov & Partners. Strategic Communications Management’.
