New Appointments at Mikhailov and Partners

May 2012. Mikhailov and Partners, the leading Russian strategic communications services company, is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Managing Director, and several other promotions. These changes are designed to reinforce the Company’s expertise in key business segments and drive its future development.

Alexey Ryabinkin, who has headed Mikhailov and Partners’ Financial Communications Practice since 2009, has been appointed the Company’s new Managing Director.

As head of the Financial Communications Practice, Alexey was responsible for successfully developing the Company’s expertise in communications support for M&A transactions, IPOs, litigation and anti-crisis communications.

In his new role as Managing Director, he will oversee the future development and expansion of the Financial Communications Practice and the Corporate and Anti-Crisis Communications Practice, and will also be responsible for working with key clients.

Andrey Bykasov has been appointed to succeed Alexei Ryabinkin as Director of the Financial Communications Practice.

Andrey has worked in communications since 2003. He joined the Mikhailov and Partners team in 2008 and from 2009 he headed the Financial Communications Practice contracts team responsible for communications in the capital markets. In this position Andrey took part in communications support projects for major international M&A transactions and IPOs involving Russian companies. His clients included Telenor, INTER RAO, Nordgold Accenture, ARMZ, NOMOS-BANK, Polyus Gold, Russian Technologies, and TransContainer, among others.

In his new role, Andrey will focus on developing the Company’s expertise in communications support for multifaceted transactions, international share placements, and mergers and acquisitions, and also on establishing and supporting financial communications systems for Mikhailov and Partners’ clients. His responsibilities will also include developing relations with the Company’s foreign partners in the fields of financial communications and IR.

The Company is establishing a new Corporate and Anti-crisis Communications Practice, which will be led by Anton Kurevin.

Anton has worked in public relations since 2003. He joined Mikhailov and Partners in 2006, and in 2008 headed up its financial-industrial sector contracts team. During his time in the Company, Anton has managed communications projects for the following clients: PPF Group, Gunvor, Volga Resources, BP, ONEXIM, Atomenergomash, Energoprom, Aeroflot, MICEX, VTB Bank, MFK Bank, Transcreditbank, KIT Finance, and Metropol, among others.

In his new role, Anton will continue to advise the Company’s clients, and also to develop its expertise in managing client reputations in crisis situations, during corporate conflicts and large-scale business transformations and restructurings.
